I am 100% behind you on the Music and Arts Badge.  Maybe we should have a separate discussion per each of those.  One idea is playing music to heal the earth.  In my spiritual community we drum a drum called the Grandmother Drum.  It is a healing drum, and we think of healing others and Mother Earth.  Talk about feeding my soul.  My children also participate, and it does not suprise me how rhythmic they are.  We had a ceremony once, and I swore I heard Mother Earth humming.  She was so happy, she was singing:o)

Here are some ideas below on my blog, for music, art and outdoor nature activities...just for a place to start.

I am SO NEW that I haven't even read all the way through my "manual" nor do I have a troop yet.  But my husband and I are homeschooling our son and very excited about starting a much needed resource for some local homeschoolers!  We were just talking about the badges and have some fun ideas as well so we are anxious to get started.  We would love to see some sort of music/arts badge as well.  I feel this is so important in young children's life...after all, music feeds the souls that inhabit this earth.

We use a company called Advantage Emblem and Badge Company if I am not mistaken, they also designed many of the badges for other scouting programs. We have purchased all of the badges needed to complete our program. Our system is designed around every Earth Scout badge. We have personal enrichment badges too. I wrote each badge to be used for all children ages 3 - 10 and just made sure that it fit the parameters for all to complete even if the smaller children need some help. I also included a family badge for each Earth Scout badge as well. Can't wait to share more! Pamela :)

PS: I did describe my badge system with examples in one of the threads of a few badges I put together for our group, just not sure which thread...sorry!
